ABOUT PREMIUM CUSTOM LACQUER
Rust-Oleum CUSTOM is a lacquer paint designed for enthusiasts who want to transform the look of their vehicles with premium, on-trend colors and finishes. It's easy to apply over any number of surfaces including metal, chrome, and plastic. Lacquer formula dries faster than traditional enamels, for quicker and easier project completion. You can re-touch CUSTOM paint anytime, without fear of adhesion issues. And a new durable formula provides long lasting protection with excellent coverage. It's perfect for automotive accent projects like rims, striping, and interiors.
Wash the surface with a commercial detergent, or other suitable cleaning method to remove dirt. Rinse with fresh water and dry with a clean cloth. Remove all oil, grease, wax and petroleum based materials with mineral spirits. Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. APPLICATION
Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can 10-16" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Do not use near open flame.
DRY & RECOAT
Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes, to handle in 1 hour and is fully dry in 24 hours. Apply a second coat or Clear Coat within 1 hour or after 48 hours.
CLEAN-UP
Wipe off tip when finished. Clean up wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor.
CLOGGING
If the valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not insert any object into can valve opening.
